BLANCHARDVILLE - The middle of the Pecatonica baseball team's order did a lot of damage slugging its way to a 16-6 six-inning win over Monticello in a rescheduled game Wednesday.

Pecatonica's No. 2, 3 and 4 hitters combined to go 9-for-13. The Vikings pounded out 15 hits and remained unbeaten improving to 6-0, 4-0 Six Rivers East.

Pecatonica junior Kyle Kleppe went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI. Sophomore teammate A.J. Hendrickson went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI and senior Drew Schliem was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

"The three guys in the middle of our lineup had a really big night for us," Pecatonica coach Jim Strommen said. Sometimes it's contagious throughout a game."

Pecatonica junior Riley Gould pitched 5 2/3 innings to get the win. Gould gave up three earned runs. He struck out 10 and walked five.

"He (Gould) was solid for the most part," Strommen said. "When he realizes not to overthrow he's a good pitcher for us."

Monticello sophomore Trent Siegenthaler went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

Siegenthaler started on the mound. He pitched three innings and gave up eight runs on seven hits. He struck out four, walked five and hit one. Senior Matt Andrews gave up four runs on one hit, but didn't record an out in relief. Junior Logan Marty pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief and gave up four runs on seven hits. He struck out one and walked two.
