BLANCHARDVILLE - Pecatonica-Argyle senior quarterback Jon Hendrickson scored five touchdowns to lead the Vikings to a 41-6 win over Shullsburg on Saturday.
Hendrickson completed 15 of 23 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns and he rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a 74-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first quarter to spark the Vikings.
Hendrickson hooked up with Dillon Conwell on 30 and 17-yard TD passes. Conwell had 10 receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Pecatonica-Argyle junior Alec Treuthardt rushed for 102 yards on just six carries.
"With the athletes we have the short passes and runs can turn into big plays," Pecatonica-Argyle coach Larry Green said. "Not all teams will be able to match up with us. It's a luxury we have.
"Jon (Hendrickson) is definitely having a good year. Jon is able to do more in this offense. We feel confident in what Jon does for us. We feel like he is the best quarterback for us. Hopefully, Jon can keep that going as well."
Green said the Vikings wanted to get the running game going against the Miners. The Vikings racked up more than 350 yards.
"We wanted to establish a running game," Green said. "We challenged our linemen and they stepped up and did their assignments."
