MONROE - The Monroe U10 girls soccer team had two nice wins this past weekend. They played Oregon on Saturday and won 4-0.
They came out strong with goals from Megan Benzschawel, Cassi Gersbach and Rebekah Rath in the first half.
During the second half, Gersbach scored the fourth and final goal. Karlye Mazahreh-Disch, Amy Weuthrich and Gersbach had multiples saves as goal tenders which kept Oregon scoreless.
The Mustangs traveled to New Glarus to play a make-up game on Sunday defeated New Glarus 5-2. The girls started off strong having many opportunities to score. Goals in the first half were scored by Kayleigh Nesbitt, Jade Stauffacher, Megan Benzschawel and Gersbach which made the game 4-0 at half.
Anika Einbeck, Stauffacher, Alexa Bader, Maddison Markham and Kourtney Walters had shots on goals during the second half. The girls kept the push going and Benzschawel scored off of a goal kick with a minute left in the game.
