MONROE - The U-11 Rebel Mustangs played a home game on Sunday, May 1, and defeated the Madison Regent Rockets 6-0.
The Rebels kept up strong offensive play the entire game with first half attempts by Kennedy Ludwig, Olivia Werth, Morgan Seffrood, Heather Burkhalter and Sydney Mathiason. Anna Latimer was goalkeeper for much of the first half but recorded no saves as excellent defense by Samantha Ellefson, Dani Larraga and Sydney kept the ball away from her. Emily Benschawel came in as goalkeeper and earned five saves the rest of the first half.
The Rebels scored two goals before halftime one by Ludwig from a corner kick from Werth, and a goal by Werth assisted by Ludwig.
The second half the Rebels were still on fire with several shots on. Goals made by Latimer and Larraga were assisted by Benschawel, and Ludwig, and Benschawel assisted by Werth. Werth had one save as goalie the second half followed by one save by Seffrood to end the game 6-0.
