MONROE - The U-10 Rebel Mustang girls soccer team traveled to Verona Saturday and recorded an 8-2 victory.
The Mustangs scored four goals the first half. Olivia Werth scored two of the goals, one on an assist by Kennedy Ludwig. Ludwig also scored two goals, one on an assist from Emily Benzschawel and the other on an assist from Werth.
Additional attempts on goal were made by Sydney Mathison, Heather Burkhalter and Alexa Bader. Benzschawel and Aspen Bader shared goalkeeper duties in the first half and each recorded one save. The second half goalies were, Aspen Bader, who earned one save, and Ally Einbeck, who also had one save.
Attempts on goal were made by Benzschawel, Werth and Ludwig. Second-half goals were scored by Mathison, assisted by Burkhalter; Benzschawel, Ludwig, on an assist by Burkhalter, and another by Ludwig.
Defense by Einbeck, Phoebe Ellsworth and Elizabeth Grenzow and offense by Allison O'Brien kept the Verona Gummy Bears to only two goals.
