MONROE - The New Glarus boys basketball team had two players receive Capitol South All-Conference honors recently.
New Glarus junior Gavin Binger was named first-team Capitol South All-Conference. Binger averaged a team-best 13.2 points per game. New Glarus junior Austin Schlueter (10.5 ppg) was named honorable mention all-conference.
Both Binger and Schlueter helped lead New Glarus to a 10-13 season. The Glarner Knights lost a regional game 64-41 to Cuba City. The Glarner Knights finished second place in the Capitol South Conference going 6-4 behind conference champion Marshall (10-0).
Cambridge junior J.T. Parish was named first-team all-conference and was named the conference player of the year. Parish (19.8 ppg), who led the Blue Jays to a third-place finish in the conference, was the only unanimous all-conference player.
Belleville senior Ryan Hayes (16 ppg) was also a first-team all-conference selection. Senior teammate Jackson McMahan was named second-team all-conference.
