Turner sweeps Cardinals

BELOIT - Beloit Turner swept a doubleheader from Brodhead-Juda Saturday.

Turner won the first game 19-7 and defeated the Cardinals 14-2 in the second game. Turner racked up 39 hits in the doubleheader. The Cardinals committed eight errors in the twin bill.

The Cardinals had a 7-6 lead going into the fifth. Turner broke the game open with a five-run fifth and an eight-run sixth.

Brodhead-Juda senior Aaron Duecker and Ethan Douglas each went 2-for-3. Senior Billy Sangermano pitched five innings and gave up 11 runs on 17 hits. He struck out two and walked two.

Brodhead-Juda junior Carson Scheidegger pitched three innings and gave up 13 hits in the second game.

Turner scored six runs in the second to take a commanding 9-1 lead and cruised from there.
