MONROE - Avid runners will get a chance to run for a cause Thanksgiving Day.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Green County Alumni Association is hosting a Turkey Trot 5K run and 2-mile walk Nov. 23 at the Green County Fairgrounds. A kids' 1K Run will start at 8 a.m. and the 5K Turkey Trot Run/Walk will start at 8:30 a.m. from the fairgrounds.
All the proceeds raised will go toward scholarships for Green County students who attend UW-Madison. The entry fee for the Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk is $30 for adults and $25 for students. The entry fee for the 1K Run is $15. If participants register before Saturday, they will receive a Turkey Trot T-shirt. A limited number of shirts will be available on race day.
