ORFORDVILLE - Albany's Mitchell Trow scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Comets to a 76-64 win over Orfordville Parkview Monday.
Albany (1-1) jumped out to a 19-14 lead in the first quarter. Trow scored 15 of his 23 points in the first half to lead the Comets to an 11-point lead at the half. Albany junior point guard Tyler Dahl scored 17 points but played just 2 1/2 minutes in the first half after he picked up two early fouls.
"I definitely think we have multiple weapons," Albany coach T.J. Zweifel said. "We have proven that we can play without Tyler. That just grows our confidence when we can play without him and have an 11-point lead at the half."
Albany senior Devin Deegan added nine points, while junior Cole Trapp and sophomore Brock Gilkes each chipped in eight points.
Zweifel said a key to the win was playing team defense and taking away the Vikings' transition game.
