Last Week: The sophomore became the first female in Black Hawk history to qualify for the state meet in four events. Wellnitz won a sectional title in the 100 (12.74), took second in the 200 (26.40), was third in the triple jump (33 feet, 5 inches) and finished fourth in the long jump (16-4).
