Monroes Terri Holmes slides into home and scores in the third inning as the New Glarus catcher tires to corral the ball. The sixth grade Monroe Area Girls Softball team beat New Glarus 8-2 in the Southern Wisconsin Area Girls Softball tournament Friday. Holmes singled and sparked a three-run third inning as she beat a throw home and scored the games first run. The three day tournament continues today for fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade teams at Twining Park and Northeast Park.
