DARLINGTON - Cassidy Chambers and Claire Scott have had a historic run as members of the Darlington girls basketball team.

Chambers and Scott were named first-team Southwest Activities League All-Conference recently for their efforts in leading the Redbirds to a second regional championship in the last three years. The senior duo also has been a part of leading the Redbirds to their first two sectionals in the last three years.

Chambers averaged 16.2 points per game and Scott averaged 13.8 ppg. The Redbirds finished the season (18-7, 10-4 SWAL) for third place in the league. Chambers, who came back after a torn ACL last year, eclipsed 1,000 career points earlier this season.

Cuba City (25-2, 14-0) won the SWAL for the second straight year. The Cubans knocked off Darlington 56-37 in the sectional semifinal. The Cubans advanced to state, but lost to Algoma 62-39.

Darlington senior Tatum Evenstad received honorable mention all-conference.

The Cubans had three first-team all-league players led by sophomore Chloe Pustina, freshman Jessi Marti and freshman Mollie Wedige.

Marti averaged 13.2 ppg, Wedige averaged 9.4 ppg and Pustina averaged 8.9 ppg.
