OREGON - Emma Krause and Megan Brakob each scored two goals to power Oregon to a 9-0 win over the Monroe girls soccer team on Tuesday.

Oregon, ranked third in the Division 2 Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association state poll, scored six goals in the second half.

"I was hoping to see the girls play with a lot of intensity, heart and a lot of movement off the ball," Monroe coach Kyle Kasten said. "They definitely gave it their all tonight."

Oregon midfielder Emma Roemer scored a goal on an assist from Sammy Eyers at 6 minutes, 46 seconds. About 20 minutes later, Brakob scored a goal on a pass from Marah Weidensee. Oregon's Maddy Swartzmiller scored a goal late in the first half to give the Panthers a 3-0 lead.

Krause scored two goals in the second half. The Panthers scored three goals in about a nine-minute span in the second half.

Monroe sophomore goalie Anna Latimer had 33 saves.

"She (Latimer) faced great competition and kept her head up," Kasten said. "Never did I see a drop of intensity in Anna."

Monroe (4-5-2, 1-1 Badger South) will face Madison Edgewood, ranked third in Division 3, at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Honey Creek Park.
