RENO, Nev. - Former Monticello resident Chad Svendsen hit the jackpot bowling in the USBC Open Championships June 20 in Reno, Nev.
Svendsen, who now lives in Milton, teamed with four fellow University of Wisconsin-Whitewater graduates to take third place at the USBC Open Championships. The team will split $20,000.
Svendsen's team posted a score of 3,387, which was just 21 pins shy of the winning team from Neenah.
The team's second game score of 1,258 was the highest bowled in the tournament this year and the fourth highest game in the tournament's 107-year history.
Jon Schalow led the way with a 727 series, followed by Ryan Kohlmeyer's 714, Svendsen's 675, Chris Colosimo's 651 and Bryan Bannach's 620 series.
