MONROE - The big sister wasted little time sticking it to the little sibling Sunday in the Monroe Area Fastpitch League.

Monroe Optimists No. 1 scored 11 times in the first two innings of a 13-1 crunching of Monroe Optimists No. 2 in Red League action.

Meghan Roberts struck out seven and got the win, while Coree Lee, Maggie Schuttler and Kristin McArdle all had banner offensive days for the No. 1 club.

In another Red League game, Lena similarly leapt on the No. 2 squad, taking an 8-2 lead before hanging on to an 8-6 victory. Brandi Trewartha had two run-scoring triples in the losing effort.

Orangeville improved to 4-1 with a 6-3 victory over Lena and a 6-0 blanking of Stockton to round out Red League play.

McArdle's day was anything but limited to her production at the plate. The Monroe High School sophomore struck out 11 batters in a no-hitter against Brodhead, a 6-0 victory for Monroe Optimists No. 3. Kyleigh Sellnow and Jessica Hendrickson had run-scoring hits for Monroe.

Monroe's No. 4 club scored a run in the top of the seventh to beat Argyle, 5-4. The No. 3 team defeated Argyle, 6-2, and Juda knocked off Pecatonica, 14-8.
