SAUK CITY - Kody Popenfus won the 106-pound title to lead the Sugar River wrestling team to an 11th-place finish Saturday at the 17-team Sauk Prairie Eagle Invitational.
Popenfus defeated Madison LaFollette's Pedro Silver 7-1 in the title match.
Sugar River's A.J. Halbach finished fourth at 220 pounds.
Other place-winners from Sugar River were Jacob Larson (sixth at 138 pounds), Young-Chul Vetterli (sixth, 145), Brooks Henderson (sixth, 152) and Jack Nelson (seventh, 195).
Nick Gilbertson (fifth, 220), Lucas McKeon (fifth, 182) and Brodie Gross (eighth, 170) all medaled for Pecatonica-Argyle.
Mount Horeb won the title with 263 points. Sugar River had 103 points and Pecatonica-Argyle was 16th with 40 points.
