BELLEVILLE - Senior Nehemiah Noriega scored two goals to lead the Sugar River boys soccer team to a 4-1 win over Platteville-Lancaster on Monday.
With the win, Sugar River improves to 7-3, 2-0 Capitol Conference. The Raiders were coming off a 2-0 win over Monroe last week and a 7-1 loss to Delavan-Darien on Saturday.
Sugar River senior Dylan Hustad had three assists.
Sugar River senior Kevin Zimmerman gave the Raiders a 1-0 lead by scoring on an assist from Hustad at 6 minutes, 26 seconds.
Less than 2 minutes later, Noriega scored his first goal on a pass from Hustad to extend the Raiders' lead to 2-0 at the half.
Platteville-Lancaster's Ryan Rolling scored a goal at 46:08 to cut the Raiders' lead to 2-1.
Sugar River's Corey Hoven answered with a goal at 49:27 to give the Raiders a 3-1 lead.
Noriega capped the scoring with his second goal on Hustad's third assist in the 52nd minute.
Sugar River hosts Watertown Luther Prep at 7 p.m. today.
