BELLEVILLE - The Sugar River boys and girls teams swept their conference matchups Tuesday against Wisconsin Heights and Cambridge. For the boys, the Raiders blew past Cambridge (112 to 34) and the Vanguards (106.50 to 38.50). On the girls side, Sugar River beat Cambridge by a score of 80-66, while they blazed past Wisconsin Heights, 103-42 in their team scores.
The Raiders finished with 12 first-place finishes in the individual events. Tanner Hofer won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.9 seconds. Tucker McMaan finished first in the 800 with a time of 2 minutes, and 9 seconds, while Tyler Gilbertson finished first in the 1,600 meters in 10:27.3. Kelvin Johnson won both the 110 (17.4 seconds) and 300 (40.4 seconds) hurdles. The Raiders' 400 (47.1 seconds), 800 (1:36.3), 1,600 (3:40.5), and 3,200 (8:51.2) relay teams swept the relay events. Finishing out the first-place finishes for the boys were Mitchell DeLorme in the high jump (5 feet, 6 inches), Ryan Hayes in the long jump (19-06) and Garrison Woods in the triple jump (40-01.50).
For the girls, first-place finishers were Noelle Maire (12:12.4) in the 3,200, and the 400- and 1600-meter relay teams with times of 56.8 seconds and 11:13.5, respectively. Krista Diaz and Madalena Macht each won multiple events. Diaz won the 100 (18.7 seconds) and 300 (51.8 seconds) meter hurdles. Macht took first in the long and triple jumps with lengths of 14 feet, 9 inches and 31-11 respectively.
