Sugar River soccer shuts down Lakeside Lutheran

BELLEVILLE - The Sugar River girls soccer team had four different players score goals in a 4-0 win over Lakeside Lutheran Friday, May 3.

Sugar River junior Sierra Watrud scored a goal on an assist from Shelby Hubbard at 1 minute, 26 seconds. Sugar River senior Karly Anderson scored a goal on assist by Nicole Sanders to give the Raiders a 2-0 lead at 12:56. Jamie Ott scored a goal on a pass from Anderson at 26:33 to give the Raiders a 3-0 lead at the half.

Taylor Legler scored a goal at 72:10 on an assist by Sanders to cap the scoring for the Raiders.

With the win, Sugar River improves to 5-3, 3-1 Capitol South. Sugar River's Baily Hubbard had two saves as the goalkeeper. ugar River's Karina Moen had one save.

The Raiders' game against McFarland was canceled. Sugar River will host Watertown Luther Prep Tuesday, May 7.
