VERONA - Sophomore midfielder Jack Gentilli scored two goals to lift the Sugar River boys soccer team to a 3-1 win over Cambridge-Deerfield in a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal on Thursday at Reddan Soccer Park.
Sugar River's Jaden Kreklow put the Raiders on the board with a goal on an assist by Gentilli in the 26th minute. Seven minutes later, Gentilli scored his first goal on an assist from Kreklow to give the Raiders a 2-0 lead at the half.
Gentilli sealed the win with a goal in the 84th minute on a pass from junior Brock Kelly.
Sugar River junior goalkeeper Cole Myers had two saves.
Sugar River (12-8-1) advances to a regional championship game and will play at Evansville at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
