BELLEVILLE - Sugar River's Morgan Hustad scored her first varsity goal to propel the Raiders to a 1-0 win over Evansville in the season opener Tuesday.

Hustad's goal came off a combination play started from a corner kick early in the first half. Sugar River sophomore Ellie Gentilli was credited with the assist.

Sugar River junior goalie Rachael Heittola had three saves. The Raiders outshot the Blue Devils 11-3.

Sugar River will host Platteville-Lancaster Thursday in Belleville.
