MONROE - Black Hawk High School will host a pep rally at 7 p.m. Thursday in the high school gym for its statebound girls basketball team.
The Warriors (23-2) are making their first state appearance and will play Potosi at 9:05 a.m. Friday in a Division 4 semifinal at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
Monroe will host a pep rally for the statebound Cheesemakers at 7:40 a.m. Friday. Monroe (23-2), the defending Division 2 state champions, will play Grafton in a semifinal at 1:35 p.m. Friday.
There will be an early release from Monroe schools Friday, with the elementary schools releasing at 11:15 a.m; middle school at 11:20 a.m.; and high school at 11:25 a.m. There will be no lunches served.
Tickets for the state basketball semifinal against Grafton are on sale at the high school office and Ruf's until 9 a.m. Thursday, March 12. Tickets are $8.
There will be a free student fan bus (high school students only) leaving the high school student parking lot at 11:45 a.m.
