BRODHEAD - Brodhead senior Erika Stampfli threw a perfect game in the first game of the doubleheader against Palmyra-Eagle and helped the Cardinals sweep the twin bill Friday.
Stampfli had 10 strikeouts in leading the Cardinals to a 15-0 win over Palmyra-Eagle in the first game of the doubleheader. The Cardinals went on to win the night cap 17-1.
Brodhead senior Mariah Mohns went 6 for 6 with four RBIs and two triples in the twin bill. Fellow senior Tia Collins went 4 for 8 with six runs and two stolen bases in the twin bill. Brodhead sophomore Amanda Pickel also was 4 for 8.
Monticello 3, Pecatonica 2, 10 innings
MONTICELLO - Monticello's Tanya Smith came through in the clutch with a game-winning RBI single in the 10th inning to give the Ponies a 3-2 win over Pecatonica Friday.
"The defense was outstanding," Monticello coach Duane Garrison said. "Tanya was big at third base."
Pecatonica's Julia Meier kept the Ponies at bay for the first part of the game.
"Meier had us baffled for four innings," Garrison said.
Monticello freshman Marissa Berg was 3 for 5 to lead the Ponies.
Pecatonica had three players with multi-hit games including sophomore Michelle Francois (2 for 4), junior Allison Swenson (2 for 4) and senior Ellie Gifford (2 for 5).
Juda 13, Albany 0
JUDA - Juda junior Amber Ramos pitched four innings of no-hit ball as the Panthers cruised to the Six Rivers East Conference win.
Ramos struck out nine and walked two. Juda broke the game open with a seven run third inning.
Juda junior Katlyn DeVoe went 4 for 4 and had a double to lead the Panthers. Megan Trotter was 2 for 3 with a home run.
Katie Krupke had the only hit for the Comets.
