Stampfli strikes out Jefferson

BRODHEAD - Junior Erika Stampfli struck out 12 to lead the Brodhead Cardinals to a 7-0 win over the Jefferson Eagles in Rock Valley Conference softball Tuesday.

Stampfli gave up just three hits and walked one to help the Cardinals to their second shutout of the season.

Junior Mariah Mohns had two hits and freshman Amanda Pickel added a triple to pace the Cardinals' six-hit attack. Brodhead also benefited from four Jefferson errors.

Brodhead (6-2, 6-0 Rock Valley South) will travel to Clinton to face the Cougars Thursday.

Riverdale 13, Darlington 1

DARLINGTON - Riverdale pitcher Brianna Williamson was staked to a 7-0 lead before throwing her first pitch as the Chieftains cruised to a 13-1 win over the Darlington Redbirds Tuesday in SWAL Conference play.

Riverdale had 17 hits and capitalized on six Darlington errors. Junior Amber Peters went 2-for-2 to lead the Redbirds.

Darlington (3-9, 0-7 SWAL) will travel to Boscobel Friday.
