Squirt B team earns fourth shut out

MADISON - The Avalanche Squirt A team traveled to the Madison Hartmeyer Arena to take on the Patriots Squirt A on Dec. 15. The Avalanche easily defeated the Patriots 13-2.

Scoring for the Avalanche were Luke Kuberski (three goals), Payton Stauffacher (two goals), Cade Janecke (three goals), Tessa Janecke (two goals), Alyssa Knauf and Hayden Roth (two goals). Earning assists were Tessa Janecke, Haley Knauf, Hayden Roth, Anika Einbeck (two), Luke Kuberski and Roman Bauer. Goalie Heath Bear recorded 12 saves.

Sunday's game against the Dubuque Jr. Saints did not fare as well for the Avalanche. The Avalanche fell to the Jr. Saints 7-1 at their arena.

The score was 1-1 at the end of the first period as the teams appeared evenly matched, but the Avalanche ran out of steam against the Jr. Saints in this fast-paced game. Cade Janecke scored the lone Avalanche goal.



Squirt B

The Avalanche Squirt B team hosted Middleton Squirt C on Sunday, Dec. 16 and picked up a 7-0 win.

Goalie Aiden Runkle earned his fourth shutout of the season. Ethan Williams earned a hat trick. Also scoring for the Avalanche were Rob Schroeder, Jayden Johnson (two goals) and Bryce Montgomery. Earning assists were Alvin Buholzer (two), Kendall Wild and Colton O'Connor. The Avalanche recorded 28 shots on goal.



U12 Girls

The Avalanche Girls Team hosted the Viroqua U12 girls on Saturday, Dec. 15 and split a doubleheader. Viroqua dominated the first game winning 7-1. Tessa Janecke scored the lone Avalanche goal. The Avalanche recorded 37 shots on Viroqua's goalie. Sarah Nicholas recorded 14 saves for the Avalanche.

The Avalanche dominated the second game winning 8-2. Scoring for the Avalanche in this exciting game were Alyssa Knauf (two goals), Cammi Ganshert, Tessa Janecke (four goals) and Anika Einbeck.

Earning assists were Haley Knauf (two), Alyssa Knauf, Tessa Janecke, Lily Brewer and Ganshert. Nicholas recorded 13 saves.

On Sunday, the girls hosted the DC Diamonds U12A team, but came up short losing 7-1. Alyssa Knauf scored the lone Avalanche goal, assisted by Tessa Janecke and Einbeck. Nicholas recorded 29 saves.



Mites

The Avalanche Mite White and Blue teams played on the big ice at the Kohl Center on Friday, Dec. 14 for Bucky's Mighty Mites between the second and third periods of the UW men's hockey game. It was an exciting game for our Mites who had a great time representing Avalanche hockey.

Participating were Cash Anderson, Lilah Bauer, Marlies Brandli, Seth Brandt, Lily Brewer, Jaryn Fonseca, Blaze Janecke, Wyatt Janecke, Jack Leverton, Anna Malone, Jax Manor, Mack Massingill, Xander Obert, and Gavin Roth.
