MONROE - The WIAA released its football playoff pairings Friday and six area teams found out what their matchups will be in the first round.
Brodhead-Juda (7-2) received a No. 4 seed and will host Prairie du Chien (7-2) Tuesday in Division 4. The Cardinals have won six straight games and roll into the playoffs with some momentum.
Also in Division 4, New Glarus-Monticello (7-2) has lost two games in the last three weeks will play at No. 1 seed River Valley (9-0).
The other No. 1 seeds in the Division 4 bracket were given to Walworth Big Foot, Omro and Maple Northwestern.
Darlington (9-0) received the No. 1 seed in Division 5 and will open the first round at Lancaster (5-4). Despite the higher seed, the Redbirds do not have lights on their field, which is necessary to host a Level I game. Should Darlington win, the Redbirds would host the Oct. 30 Level II game. The other teams who received No. 1 seeds in Division 5 are Brillion, Bonduel and Colby.
In Division 6, Pecatonica-Argyle (5-4) will play on the road at No. 2 Necedah (7-2). The top seeds in Division 6 include Edgar, Bangor, Coleman and Blair-Taylor.
