Severson takes first in Elkhorn

ELKHORN - Brodhead-Juda had two champions and finished sixth as a team at the Elk Invite on Saturday.

Heavyweight Dylan Severson, 22-3 overall on the season, pinned all three of his opponents. In the championship match, Severson defeated Elkhorn's Connor Selvey in 3 minutes, 48 seconds.

At 152-pounds, sophomore Hunter Colden (25-0) won a 10-7 decision over Brookfield Central's Keith Day in the championship.

In the 135-pound division, Cale Zettle took second overall, falling to Clinton's Nate McConnell in 14-5.

Ben Boozier (125) and Cody Knudtson (112) each took third place and Jordan Kraak (103), Kramer Lewis (160) and Casey Flannery (189) all finished fourth.

Weston-Ithaca Invitational

CAZENOVIA - Pecatonica-Argyle finished seventh overall at the 12-team tournament on Saturday, four spots ahead of Black Hawk.

Ross Gilbertson (285) and Eli Davis (145) each finished third overall for the Vikings in their respective divisions. Travis Gilson (152) and Chris James (130) each were fourth.

For Black Hawk, Jared Pickett (103) was second, going 3-1 on the day. Pickett's only loss was to Boscobel's Ryan Mindham, in which he was pinned in 44 seconds.

The Warriors' Bryan Luhman (171) finished third in his bracket.
