MADISON - Argyle-Pecatonica's Matthew Severson finished in 20th place at the WIAA Division 3 state golf tournament Tuesday.

Severson shot a 13-over-par 87 Tuesday and finished with a two-day score of 171, which was just six shots away from 10th place. Severson remained consistent, racking up eight pars just like he did in the first round Monday. He birdied the 358-yard No. 14.

Severson ran into trouble on the 424-yard No. 10 where he made triple bogey and he had an eight on No. 15.

St. Mary's Springs shot a 330 as a team Tuesday to wrap up the Division 3 state team championship, finishing with a two-day score of 667. That was well ahead of state runner-up Martin Luther (683). Lancaster took third place as a team (699) and Mineral Point was fifth.
