OREGON - The Monroe wrestling team reeled off seven straight pins in the middle to upper weights to roll to a 58-12 win over Oregon in a Badger South Conference dual meet Tuesday night.

Monroe (5-3, 2-1 Badger South) had eight pins in the dual.

The Cheesemakers got pins from senior Ian Salzwedel at 152 pounds, sophomore Dempzy Foley (160), senior McKenzy Foley (170), junior Isaac Allen (182), junior Hayden Arneson (195), senior Traiten Gorr (220) and Kyle Walter (heavyweight). Walter's win clinched the dual meet win.

"I thought from 152 on we could do what we did," Monroe coach Tom Witt said. "The guys who got the pins for us wasn't a surprise."

Monroe freshman Gabe Witt wrestled at 113 and pulled out an 8-6 win. Monroe junior David Andrews (120) won by pin, and Timmy Anderson (126) won a 5-0 decision. Junior teammate Cole Murray picked up a 10-2 win.

Monroe's Travis Wolf was locked in a tie at 4 with 3 seconds to go, but his opponent pulled off an escape to win a nail-biter 5-4.

"He wrestled smart," Witt said of Wolf. "He just lost track of the time. He is really improving and getting better."
