REEDSBURG - The Monroe volleyball team had to deal with a strong Reedsburg blocker as the Beavers rolled past the Cheesemakers in straight sets Thursday in the regular season finale.
Reedsburg knocked off Monroe 25-14, 25-15, 25-16. The Cheesemakers had a lead most of the final set before the Beavers rallied.
"I thought we played pretty decent digging the ball and playing scrappy," Monroe coach Heidi Witt said. "I think the girls came in pumped up and ready to go. The basic and general errors just got to us. We made some mental errors hitting the ball into the net and hitting the ball out."
Monroe senior Kari Jordan had a team-high six kills and two digs. Senior Maggy Johnson added four kills. Junior teammate Paige Murphy dished out 12 assists and junior Hannah Vetterli notched two aces. Senior Lauren Curtis added two digs and sophomore Chloe Schroeder and Vetterli each had one block.
With the loss, Monroe drops to 8-27. Monroe will play No. 1 seed Edgerton in a WIAA Division 2 regional match at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Edgerton.

ARGYLE - The Argyle volleyball team will enter the regional playoffs firing on all cylinders after the Orioles handled Albany in straight sets Thursday in Argyle.
Argyle (13-5, 10-2 Six Rivers East) topped the Comets 25-8, 25-18, 25-13.
The Orioles were led by senior outside hitter Jenna Langmeier's six kills and 11 digs. Senior middle and outside hitter Kylie Johnsen chipped in with four kills, and sophomore Kayla Butler-Paulson contributed eight aces and 21 assists.
"They just made plays all around," Argyle coach Jen Butler said. "Our ball control was very good. We were able to speed up our offense. Serving was also strong and aggressive."
Argyle, the No. 3 seed in the regional, will square off against Six Rivers East rival and No. 6 seed Barneveld at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The Orioles defeated Barneveld in both of their matches this season, winning the first in five sets and the second in four.
"It's going to be a tough match," Butler said. "Barneveld is a strong team. It's definitely hard to beat a team three times in a row, so we're going to have to work extra hard and be prepared for it."

Pecatonica 1
PECATONICA - Seventeen digs apiece from senior Morgan Adkins and sophomore Chelsea Burkhalter led the Juda volleyball team to a four-set win over Pecatonica.
The Panthers outlasted the Vikings 25-17 in the first set, but strong play from Vikings junior Britt Miller and senior Sami Miller helped Pecatonica win the second 26-24.
"I think, for us, we definitely played a very exciting second set that was really intense, we started playing our game," Pecatonica coach Tori Leonard said. "But we had some errors that led to us not winning. They really had some good servers that went against us."
Juda won the third set 25-19 and the final set 25-15.
Britt Miller led the way for Pecatonica (5-16-1, 2-10 Six Rivers East) with six kills, eight blocks and seven aces, while Sami Miller contributed nine digs. Sophomore Elizabeth Tisch led the team with 15 assists.
The Panthers received five kills from senior Cheyenne Ambler, five aces from sophomore Alexis Goecks and 15 assists from Burkhalter.
Pecatonica, the No. 8 seed in the regional, will face No. 1 seed Southwestern at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
"They (Southwestern) play in Division 3 conference, so we know they're going to be tough," Leonard said. "But we're going to do our very best to just play our game and do what we need to do on our side of the net."

BARNEVELD - Monticello capped off a second straight unbeaten Six Rivers East Conference season sweeping Barneveld in three sets.
Monticello (16-2, 12-0 Six Rivers East) won the conference title outright. It's the second straight conference title for the Ponies, who have won three of the last four conference crowns.
"They definitely wanted to keep it (unbeaten conference record) intact," Monticello coach Scott Smice said. "It was probably more important keeping everyone healthy, which we didn't do."
Monticello senior Brecklyn Klosterman suffered an ankle injury in the first set.
"I heard it was softball size," Smice said of Klosterman's ankle. "She's probably out for at least the regional."
Smice adjusted his lineup and used sophomore Brie Graber and freshman Karly Ready. The Ponies also relied on sophomore Jessie Garrison and sophomore Chandler Hansen as servers and defensive specialists.
"The underclassmen did an outstanding job considering the circumstances and considering the pressure of playing for an unbeaten conference record," Smice said.
Monticello senior Alyssah Kubly had 13 kills and three blocks. Senior teammate Paige Dilley had 12 kills. Senior Jordan Garrison racked up 29 assists.
Barneveld's Taylor Owens had a team-high 13 kills. Senior Rachel Slaney had 12 kills, 11 digs and two blocks. Sarah Cannoy had a team-high 17 assists and Kelsee Fargo had 15 assists.
Monticello received a No. 1 regional seed and received a first-round bye. The Ponies will play the winner of Argyle and Barneveld in the regional semifinals Thursday.
Cuba City 3, Darlington 0
DARLINGTON - Cuba City remained unbeaten, rolling to a sweep of Darlington.
The Cubans (16-0, 12-0 SWAL) cruised to a 25-14, 25-7, 25-13 win over the Redbirds. Darlington's Kennedy Rankin had five kills and Chloe Hinderman added eight assists. With the loss, Darlington drops to 0-12 in the SWAL.
