NEW GLARUS - Darlington senior Jason Singer and sophomore Jesse Sturtz were thorns in the side of New Glarus in a non-conference game Thursday.

Singer went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Sturtz was 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead the Redbirds to a 13-3 win over the Glarner Knights.

Darlington senior Ben Muhlstein pitched five innings to get the win. He gave up three earned runs on four hits. Muhlstein struck out four and walked two.

New Glarus freshman Jared Carney pitched three innings and eight runs (five earned runs) on six hits. He struck out three and walked four. Andrew Nimtz pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up three earned runs on five hits.

New Glarus' John Chenoweth went 1-for-1 with one RBI to lead the Knights.
