LIVINGSTON - The Darlington girls and boys swept the SWAL Conference cross country meet at Iowa-Grant Thursday, and the Albany Comets claimed two third-place finishes.
The Darlington boys finished first in the 5-kilometer race with a total time of 84 minutes and 2 seconds, and Albany came in third at 89:13. On the girls side, Darlington finished first in the 4-kilometer race at 79:27, and Albany came in third at 94:37.
Junior Tyson Miehe led the way for the Redbirds, finishing as the top individual runner with a time of 16:04. Teammate Quinn Cullen, a senior, came in third at 16:45, followed by senior Garth Garrison in fifth (16:52), sophomore Thomas Schultz in sixth (16:57), and senior Kyle Schulte in 11th place (17:24). Senior Patrick Roche, whose time didn't factor into the total team time, finished in 12th place at 17:37.
The Albany boys squad was led by sophomore Brennan Bloedel, who finished eighth overall with a time of 17:21. Fellow sophomore Aaron Johnson came in 13th at 17:46, followed by senior Chad Helland in 16th (17:50), freshman Josh Little in 17th (17:56), and freshman Tyler Dahl in 22nd place (18:20). Seniors Kyle Woyak and Johnny Kallgren, whose times did not factor into the team time, finished 23rd (18:23) and 30th (19:18) respectively.
The Pecatonica-Argyle boys team finished seventh with a total team time 111:08. Seniors Skylar Cragg and Marcuss Rubio led the way for the Vikings, finishing 33rd (19:38) and 38th (20:15) respectively, followed by freshman Login Swearingen in 44th (22:16), sophomore Rick Hendrickson in 48th (24:10), and junior Witor Eng in 49th (24:49).
On the girls, side Darlington was led by senior Christa Wamsley, who finished first overall with a time of 15:15. Fellow senior Cheyenne Wolfe came in second at 15:33, followed by junior Claire Cullen in fifth (16:08), senior Harley Douglas in sixth (16:11), and senior Tatum Evenstad in seventh place (16:20). Senior Rebecca Mathias, whose time didn't factor into the team time, finished in eighth place at 16:25.

Freshman Samantha Erickson led the way for the Vikings, finishing in 15th place at 17:06, followed by freshman Hannah James in 23rd (18:20), senior Emma Marion in 26th (18:45), senior Kensie Burreson in 31st (19:15), and senior Cora Demler in 36th (20:02).
