Redbirds pin Fennimore

DARLINGTON - The Darlington wrestling team picked up pins from almost half of its weight classes as the Redbirds rolled to a 62-9 dual meet win over Fennimore Friday night.

Darlington received six pin-falls in the victory. The Redbirds received pins from Patrick Roche (125 pounds), Matt McDaniel (140), Eli Humphrey (160), Tanner Andrews (189), Brandon Heins (215) and heavyweight Mark Brugger.

Roche pinned Fennimore's Blake Bender in 4 minutes, 21 seconds. McDaniel won in a fall over Dylan Behrens in 5:52 and Humphrey pinned Dillon Potts in 1:26.

The Redbirds dominated the upper weights as Andrews pinned Brandon Chappell in 44 seconds and Heins won by fall over Everett Schwer in 5:17. Brugger, who is ranked third in the Division 3 Crossface wrestling poll, pinned Drew Zoromski in 3:51.

Darlington senior Devin Malott, ranked fourth at 125, wrestled at 119 and he defeated Calvin Jeardeau in a technical fall, 17-2. Sophomore Bo Brunkow (103) defeated Brian Trader 9-3.

Darlington's Scott McDaniel (135) defeated Tyler Staskel 9-5 and Bruce King beat Logan Chappell 7-5.
