MT. HOREB - The Darlington-Cuba City girls golf team will be heading into Wednesday's conference meet in Prairie du Chien with a little momentum.
The Redbirds defeated host Mount Horeb Monday 206-216, bettering their best team score at Mount Horeb by eight strokes.
Ali McCauley led the way for Darlington, shooting a match-low 42. Nellie Black also broke 50 strokes, shooting a 46. Also figuring into the team scoring were Taylor Burke with a 58 and Dani Larson with a 60.
Erica Leahy led all junior-varsity golfers with a 58, but Darlington fell to the Vikings 241-274.
