BOSCOBEL - Darlington senior Kade Carey won two individual conference championships to lead the Redbird boys track team to a seventh straight Southwest Wisconsin Activities League title Tuesday.
Carey swept the two top sprint races, winning the 100-meter dash (12.02) and the 200 (23.92). Darlington ran way with the conference title 188-127 over Cuba City. The Darlington girls track team finished third place (90), well behind champion Cuba City (206).
Darlington senior Dane Siegenthaler took second place in the 800 (2:05.1) and junior teammate Blake Cwynar was third (2:06.86).
Freshman teammate Grady Rielly won the 300 hurdles (44.84) and finished second place in the 110 high hurdles (17.01). Sophomore teammate Trevor Johnson took second place in the 300 hurdles (45.89).
Darlington sophomore Mitchell Wagner took second in the high jump (5 feet, 8 inches) and Johnson was third (5-8).
The Redbirds took the top two spots in every relay. The Redbirds' 400 relay team of Conrad Blosch, Cole Wahlen, Jared Meister and Dylan Perrin won with a time of 47.57 seconds. Darlington took second place in the 800 (1:40.42), 1,600 (3:41.76) and 3,200-relays (8:18.35) .
Blosch also won a conference title in the pole vault (10-6) and senior A.J. Coulthard was the conference champion in the discus (138-0). Cole Trumble finished second in the triple jump (39-2 1/2) and Wagner was third (36-9 1/2). Senior teammate Brett Erickson took second in the shot put (42-8).
Darlington freshman Tanner Evenstad finished third in the 1,600 (4:55.74) and senior Thomas Schultz took third in the 3,200 (10:27.98).
In the girls' conference meet, Darlington senior Johanna Meister won the 800 (2:27.63). Junior Carly Langkamp took second in the 400 (1:04.22) and second in the pole vault (7-6). Freshman teammate Kennedy Rankin took second place in the discus (97-3).
The Redbirds' 3,200 relay team of Langkamp, Meister, Paige Schilling and Erin Wolf won the race with a time of 10:02.90, which was a conference record. The quartet broke the previous record (10:07.10) set by Cuba City in 1992.
Darlington finished second place in the 1,600 relay (4:27.89). The Redbirds took third place in the 400 relay (55.94) and third in the 800 relay (1:59.80).
