BLANCHARDVILLE — Field conditions forced the Wiota-Oregon Home Talent Sunday League Game to McKellar Park in Blanchardville, but the host-Indians took control early and won 7-3 in their game June 16.
Oregon scored one run in the top of the first inning and didn’t plate another until the eighth inning.
Wiota scored two runs in the bottom of the first and added a run in each of the second and third innings. A 3-run seventh put the Indians ahead 7-1.
Jesse Sturtz was 2 for 2 with two walks and two RBIs for Wiota, while Jeff Solberg was 1 for 4 with two RBIs and three runs. Both Sturtz and Solberg collected doubles.
Sturtz was the starter on the mound for Wiota and went seven no-hit innings, tallying 11 strikeouts and seven walks, and a hit batter. Solberg tossed the final two frames, allowing five hits and a walk.

Belleville 14, Argyle 10
BELLEVILLE — Lance Rossing and Hogan Edwards each had two hits, but the Beavers gave up eight unanswered runs until the ninth inning of their game June 16.
After falling behind 3-0 after the first inning, Argyle plated five runs in the second and another in the third to take a brief 6-3 lead. Belleville tied the game with a 3-run third.
The Beavers scored two more runs in the fourth to make it 8-6, but Belleville added a run in the fifth, four in the seventh and three in the eighth to go ahead 14-8. Argyle scored two more in the ninth but could not cap the comeback.
Edwards and Drew Nafzger each doubled for the Beavers, while teammate Dylan Schwitz was 1 for 2 with a walk, two runs and two RBIs from the leadoff spot. Nafzger had three RBIs, as did Cory Stamm.
Kris Rieder took the loss for Argyle on the mound, fiving up six runs in 2.2 innings of work. Rieder allowed seven hits and three walks and struck out four. Ryan Erickson then tossed four innings of relief, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Edwards tossed the eighth, giving up four unearned runs.
Jaydon Winkers got the start for Belleville, throwing five innings. Sam Urqhart got the win, tossing the final four innings in relief.
Tyler Dahl, Ethan Pfueti and Urqhart each had three hits for the Raiders, while Winkers and Blake Noel each had two hits. Coltyn Winkers, Jaydon Winkers, Joey McNaught, Noel and Urqhart all had two RBIs.

Wiota 3, Argyle 2
WIOTA — A passed ball sealed the Indians with a win over the Beavers June 13.
With two outs and a 1-1 count in the fifth inning, a pitch sailed passed the Argyle catcher and Nick Andrae was able to score from third. After a swinging strike, Sturtz was picked off at third to end the inning.
Ben Muhlstein had two hits for Wiota, with teammate Tyler Osterday connecting on a triple. Argyle had just two hits, as Wiota’s Ryan Glendenning dazzled for a complete game on the mound. Glendenning struck out nine and walked two, allowing zero earned runs.
Colton Ploessel tossed 4.1 innings for Argyle before being taken out. Ploessel allowed six walks, four hits and struck out four.
Ashton 14, Belleville 4
ASHTON — Konner French gave up seven earned runs in three innings, as the Raiders fell behind early and couldn’t catch up in their game June 13.
Ashton scored two runs in the second and five in the third. Belleville score three in the top of the fourth, but Ashton score two in the bottom half of the frame and three more in the fifth.
Brock Gilkes doubled for Belleville, which had just three hits in the game.
