CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Drake Ingold, a 2018 Monroe graduate, knocked off 51 seconds from his previous personal record and set the Viterbo school record in a men’s 8K race with a time of 26 minutes, 12.1 seconds at the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede Oct. 26. Ingold was 24th overall in the race of more than 200 runners.

Ingold’s record broke the previous mark by two seconds, set by Jorge Pichardo at the 2018 NAIA National Championship held at the same course.

A week earlier, Ingold had set his previous best mark at 27:03.6 at the UW-La Crosse Jim Drews/Tori Neubauser Invitational at Ettrick Golf Club. Days later, Ingold was honored with the North Star Athletic Association Men’s Runner of the Week award.

Ingold spent his 2018 season at UW-La Crosse before transferring. He is a business management and leadership major.

Viterbo’s next race is the NSAA Championship No. 8 at Forest City, Iowa. Two weeks later, the school will participate in the NAIA National Championship in Vancouver, Washington.
