PLATTEVILLE — Freshman Jack Gentilli of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team was named newcomer of the year and first team of All-Wisconsin State Soccer team, selected by the United Soccer Coaches.
Gentilli lead the Pioneers in goals (7) and points (1)5. He was tied for the team-lead with two game-winning goals.
“He scored some big-time goals for us,” said head soccer coach Sam Koenig. “He started to break out of his shell throughout the season. I look forward to working with him over the next couple years. He will be a player that will continue to mature in the college game and be a big factor in our attack moving forward.”
Gentilli is majoring in engineering.
The Pioneers finished 8-8-3 in 2019.
