WHITEWATER - The Cheesemakers won both girls soccer games at the Whitewater Quad on Friday, May 8 in superb fashion.

Monroe topped Fort Atkinson, 4-1, in the first game before upending Whitewater in the second, 3-0.

Catie Eiserman scored two goals in the first game, the first in the 17th minute, and the second, which was Monroe's final goal, in the 56th minute. Kylee Ritschard scored in the 42nd minute off an Eiserman pass.

Erin Solawetz added Monroe's third goal in the 46th minute with an unassisted corner kick for a score.

"That never happens except in professional games. It was really neat to see," Monroe coach Miriam O'Neill said of the curved kick-in goal.

Abbey Schneider and Tessa Brown each had assists for the Cheesemakers. Fort Atkinson's goal came only after trailing 4-0.

"The first game took quite a while for us to get started, but in the second half we fired up," O'Neill said.

In the second game, Ritschard scored in the 19th minute off a pass from Chrissy Marti. The two reversed places in the 22nd minute to give Monroe a 2-0 lead. Schneider scored Monroe's third goal after a pass from Marty.

"It was a nice game by Chrissy. It's nice to see someone else step up and play well," O'Neill said.

Ritschard moved into first place in the conference scoring list with her three points on the day.

"Right now she's the top scorer in the Badger South. That's the first time we've had someone do that in Monroe," O'Neill said. Monroe has had a program for six years.
