JUDA - Amber Ramos pitched her third no-hitter of the season for the Panthers softball team Monday, as Juda blanked Albany 10-0 in the final chapter of Juda's Strikeout Cancer event.
"Amber pitched really well and was 2-for-2 at the plate," Panthers head coach Bill Davis said. "Our hitting as a team came around today. We took a few walks and swung at good pitches."
Juda hammered Albany starter Katie Krupke for all 10 runs in the first three innings. As a team, the Panthers collected 11 hits.
Ramos recorded 13 of a possible 15 outs via strikeout; she also hit a batter.
Katlyn DeVoe and Aly Pierce each had two hits and Alycia Grenzow and Courtney Moisan had doubles. Ramos tripled in a three-run third inning.
As far as the off-the-field festivities, Davis said there was a great turnout for the bratfest and dunk tank, which featured his wife, Traci Davis, Albany's principal, as one of those who were dunked.
"It was a really good turnout. We need to thank the communities and Pam (Green) for setting everything up," Davis said. Both schools raised money throughout this past month to donate to the American Cancer Society.
