Ramos Ks 16 in Panthers' win vs. Orioles

JUDA - Freshman pitcher Amber Ramos struck out 16 batters Thursday as Juda's softball team held off Argyle, 6-5.

Ramos allowed just four hits and three walks, and Argyle took advantage of some errors.

The Orioles broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the fourth, but the Panthers countered with three in the bottom half of the inning.

Argyle added two more runs in the fifth, only to allow another three runs to Juda (3-5, 3-0 Six Rivers East).

"They scored on key hits, and we got ours on errors and walks," Panthers coach Bill Davis said.

Tabitha Tyler hit a key two-run single in the fourth inning to spark Juda, just moments after Kelsey Ostby (3-for-4) hit an RBI double in the top half of the inning.

Kelsey Bartles allowed four hits, eight walks and struck out eight for Argyle.

Brodhead 11, Parkview 0

BRODHEAD - Erika Stampfli continued her dominance on the mound for the Cardinals, allowing just one hit and one walk, while striking out 13.

Brodhead scored six runs in the first and five more in the third.

Leah Hegi was 2-for-3 with a run for the Cardinals. Brodhead had seven hits, collected five walks, and struck out just three times.

Southwestern 9, Darlington 3

HAZEL GREEN - Courtney McBee was 3-for-4 with a double and Katie Wiederholt was 2-for-3, but the Redbirds fell.

Allison Taylor was tagged for five earned runs on 14 hits, while striking out four and walking none. Darlington committed four errors.

Southwestern scored four runs in the fifth inning and added three more in the sixth to pull away.

Wisconsin Heights 16, New Glarus 0

NEW GLARUS - The Vanguards scored five runs in the first inning and led 9-0 after four.

New Glarus had six hits and committed eight errors. Wisconsin Heights capped the game in the final inning with seven runs.

Megan Roesslein pitched all seven innings for the Knights, striking out four, while allowing 13 hits and 12 walks.

Nicole Berndt was 2-for-3 at the plate for New Glarus.
