JANESVILLE - The Sugar River girls soccer team posted three wins and won the Janesville Parker tournament Saturday.
Sugar River (13-3, 4-1 Capitol South) picked up a 3-1 win over Fort Atkinson, a 4-0 win over Beloit Memorial and then shutout Watertown 2-0 for the title. Sugar River senior Katie Viney scored four goals and had an assist in the two games to lead the Raiders.
Hannah Kernen scored the first goal against Fort Atkinson at 6 minutes, 20 seconds. Viney, who scored two goals against the Blackhawks, put her first one in the back of the net on an assist from Trisha Boley at 11:15.
Viney scored her second goal at the 45th minute mark. Sugar River goalkeeper Natalie Manion had one save.
Viney scored 20 seconds into the shutout of Beloit Memorial. Kernen then scored two goals. Kernen's first goal came on a penalty kick and the second came off an assist from Tara Duffin at 18:36.
Boley capped the scoring with a final goal at 37:11. In the championship game against Watertown, Viney scored on an assist from Michelle Disch at 1:30. Manion had eight saves.
