Raiders take Capitol home meet

BELLEVILLE - Sugar River won both the boys and girls Capitol Conference Quad Tuesday. The boys team's score of 97 paced the field, with Cambridge coming in second at 87. On the girls side, Sugar River's 108 was ahead of Cambridge (82.5) and Marshall (81.0).

Jacob Shrader won the boys high jump with a mark of 6-feet. The Raider's 3,200-meter relay team of Conor McCoy, Adam Nelson, Caden O'Rourke and Evant Reifert won their race by over four seconds with a time of 9 minutes, 8.18 seconds.

In the boys 300 hurdles, Sugar River took the top two spots. Cole Myers took first with a time of 41.52 seconds and teammate Jared Schulting was second at 43.54. Myers also won the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.30.

On the girls side, Sugar River's Kiara Donnell won the 100 with a time of 12.89 seconds. Emily Bartow took the crown in the 300 hurdles (49.84) and the Raiders' 400 relay team of Hallie Bartow, Jade Halvensleben, Erin Kittleson and Heidi Wegehaupt took first overall (55.02).

Emily and Hallie Bartow, Halvensleben and Donnell teamed up to win the 800 relay (1:56.75), and Sugar River's 3,200 relay team of Molly Mollencamp, Nina Schiro, Gabby Whisler and Libbie Melvin took top honors with a time of 11:44.91.

Halvensleben won the long jump with a mark of 15-3, Walela Three-Sticks was the triple-jump champ at 32-2 1/2, and Haiden Zimmerman took the title in the discus with a toss of 98-3.
