Raiders shut down L-Cats

BELLEVILLE - Sugar River senior Dylan Hustad scored two goals to power the Raiders to a 5-0 win over Lake Mills Tuesday.

Hustad scored his first goal on an assist from Lukas Diaz at 8 minutes, 8 seconds. Diaz scored a goal on a pass from Hustad at 22:18 to give the Raiders a 2-0 lead.

Sugar River (11-3-1, 5-0-1 Capitol Conference) broke the game open with three second-half goals. Hustad opened up the scoring in the second half with a goal on an assist from senior Nehemiah Noriega at 68:23. Moments later, Noriega scored a goal on an assist from Cory Hoven to give the Raiders an insurmountable 4-0 lead. Senior teammate Kevin Zimmerman capped the scoring with a goal on a pass from Adler Schmidt in the 77th minute.

Sugar River will play a non-conference game at Mount Horeb Thursday.
