Raiders roll past Phoenix

BELLEVILLE - Sugar River senior Dylan Hustad posted a hat trick, scoring three goals as the Raiders boys soccer team cruised to a 10-0 win over Watertown Luther Prep on Tuesday.

The Raiders exploded for six goals in the second half, and the game was called at 79 minutes, 43 seconds after Otto Anson's goal due to the 10-goal mercy rule.

Sugar River senior Kevin Zimmerman scored two goals and had one assist.

With the win, Sugar River improves to 8-3, 3-0 Capitol Conference.

Hustad gave the Raiders a 1-0 lead, scoring on an assist from Lukas Diaz at 11:12. About 1 minute later, Diaz scored on a pass from Hustad.

Zimmerman scored his first goal on an assist from senior Nehemiah Noriega at 13:23 to give the Raiders a 3-0 lead. Hustad tacked on a first-half goal to give the Raiders a 4-0 lead at the half.

Sugar River's Corey Hoven opened the second half with a goal at 59:03. Hustad scored his third goal on an assist from Zimmerman at 65:10 to give the Raiders a 7-0 lead.

Noriega and Brock Kelly each added second-half goals.
