BELLEVILLE - The Sugar River wrestling team won 12 of 14 weight classes - many by forfeit - en route to a 69-9 home win over Lakeside Lutheran Monday.
Of the 12 wins, seven were by forfeit. The Raiders also won four matches by pin.
Senior Bryan Laube (182 pounds) pinned Lakeside Lutheran's Spenser Jensen 57 seconds into the second period; junior AJ Halbach (220) pinned Brandon Swenson in 33 seconds; junior Emanual Gomez, wrestling at 285, pinned Dalton Egli 25 seconds into the second period; and senior Taylor Christen (126) pinned Jacob Klug in 1 minute, 39 seconds.
Junior Abert Everson (170) also won by decision over Seth Schumacher, 10-7.
The Raiders (1-0) will host Columbus on Thursday.
