BELLEVILLE - Five different players scored for the Sugar River Raiders in a 5-1 win over the Watertown Luther Prep Phoenix on Thursday.
Senior Jimmy Fenley scored the Raiders' first goal on an assist from senior Brian Anderson at 3 minutes, 42 seconds.
Senior Cody Carlson gave the the Raiders a 2-0 lead with goal in the 28th minute, assisted by Brett Ellenberger. A minute later, the Raiders scored again when Anderson fed a pass to sophomore Otto Kienitz, giving Sugar River a 3-0 halftime lead.
Fenley assisted on a goal by Derek Breezer at 56:14, giving the Raiders a 4-0 lead before the Phoenix broke through for a goal in the 69th minute.
Senior Eric Liegel closed out the scoring for Sugar River with an unassisted goal in the 79th minute.
Liegel served as goalkeeper in the first half and had six saves. Ellenberger took over in goal in the second half and came up with four saves for Sugar River.
In the junior varsity game, the Raiders and the Phoenix played to a 1-1 tie.
Sugar River closes out the regular season at Columbus on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
