Raiders hold Lodi shotless, win 3-0

BELLEVILLE - The Raiders continued its solid defensive play this season in a 3-0 win over Lodi Thursday night.

Sugar River (3-0), for the second straight game, held an opponent to zero shots on goal.

Hannah Kernen scored unassisted just 2 minutes, 10 seconds into the game. Kernen then assisted both Katie Viney (16:50) and Sierra Watrud (26:15) to help give the Raiders the 3-0 half-time cushion.

In all, Sugar River had 11 shots on goal. The Raiders have 45 shots on goal in three games this season, scoring 16 times (35.5 percent). Defensively, the only five shots allowed this season came in the season-opening win over DeForest.
