BUFFALO, N.Y. - Three members of the Canisius College women's basketball program received end-of-the-year awards at the 2009 Citizens Bank MAAC Championships Banquet on Thursday night.
Junior Ellie Radke was named the MAAC Sixth Person of the Year, junior Brittané Russell was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and coach Terry Zeh was named The Rock MAAC Coach of the Year.
Radke, a Monroe native, is the first Golden Griffin to be named the MAAC Sixth Person of the Year in the eight-year history of the award. Radke ranks fifth on the team in scoring at 7.2 points per game and second in rebounding at 5.0 per contest. The 6-foot forward has appeared in 25 games on the season, with 21 of those appearances coming off the bench.
