MILWAUKEE - Former Monroe standout athlete and current Canisius (N.Y.) senior Ellie Radke made her final collegiate return to the basketball court in Wisconsin Monday, falling 63-32 to Marquette.
Radke, who graduated in 2006, scored just five points in the game on 2 of 12 shooting, grabbed three rebounds, two steals and fouled out with 33 seconds left.
Perhaps her biggest play in the game, according to Marquette's Web site, was during the opening half. After trailing 25-3 through the first 14 minutes of the game, Radke broke a 23-0 Golden Eagles run by draining a 3-pointer. The Golden Griffins then hit four more 3s before the end of the half and trailed 27-18 at the break.
Marquette opened the second half on a 10-0 run.
Radke is second on the team in scoring this season, averaging 11.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, according to Canisius' Web site. She has also started all 10 games the Griffins have played this year.
